Happy Administrative Professionals' Day! It is difficult to put into words how much Holli and Cheri mean to us here at Robert Frost / Challenge Center. Thank you for all you do!


Our students at RF/CC are working really hard towards a goal of 2,400 Roadrunner way slips. If we meet our school wide goal, the students will earn a movie and popcorn on the last day of school! The classroom with the most Roadrunner Way slips will earn a pizza party!

The stats are troubling-47% of SFSD students qualify for free/reduced lunches. Their family's income is not enough to make ends meet. That makes it difficult to support school fundraisers. Operation Hope & Caring helps! Get your tickets to the SF STORM game to support schools!


April 17-21 is National Public-School Volunteer Week! Thank you to all of the volunteers that help make our school a better place. We appreciate you!


Does your child have conflict resolution skills to solve everyday problems? Join us Tues, April 18 at 6pm to hear from SFSD & Avera Behavioral Health in this month's Family Forum Series segment. Watch for the link in your email. It's practical advice to strengthen families.


RF/CC third grade students went through the fire safety demonstration with the Sioux Falls Fire Department.

-What's the most important thing for you to do at night? (Shut your bedroom door)
-Do you have a meeting place for your family in case of a fire?
-Does your child know how to open their window independently?



K03 friends took their quiet reading (IDR) time outside!


402 students are using visual models (fraction bars) to gain a deeper understanding of fractions. “Word problems with the aid of visual models can provide the foundation for understanding fraction concepts in depth.” Making Sense of Mathematics for Teaching Grades 3-5 p. 65


5th grade Challenge Center students were excited to explore chemical reactions in a bag last week!


The School Board has voted to move the last day of student classes to Friday, May 26, 2023 - requiring students to make up two of the five days missed due to weather. Staff will report through Friday, June 2, 2023.


K03 friends practiced reading and writing their sight words today with a fun headbands game!


311 and 312 wrote informational reports and presented their reports to their classmates through a wax museum. Students dressed up as tourists and sharing about a state or a country. They participated in peer reviews and self assessments to improve their speaking and listening skills for the future.





RF/ CC students read 12,897 books through the Everybody Reads 2023 program. We are so proud of our readers!
